As a Registered, Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, I am fully committed to providing a professional and ethical service for my clients.
My past experience includes working in a GP’s practice, as well as for two local charities. I spent four years working at the Counselling and Family Centre Altrincham. In addition to counselling adults, couples and young people I was actively involved in several projects designed to extend our service; one being an outreach service to adults in the community, in which I worked with a number of clients in their own homes. I was also a member of the training team delivering in house courses to student counsellors.
I was a member of the counselling team at Beacon Counselling in Bramhall for three years, working in a GP setting with adults in the Stockport area.
Below are listed some of the issues which I work with on a regular basis:
In addition, I offer:
- Short-term solution-focussed therapy to employees via Employee Assistance Providers.
- Personal Development to Counsellors and Counselling students who wish to undertake therapy as part of their study.
I believe continuing professional development is essential in maintaining my knowledge and expertise. In addition to my formal qualifications, I regularly attend CPD training workshops and have recently completed workshops in:
- Working with Stroke Survivors
- Working with Men
- Working with Suicidal clients
- Safeguarding Vulnerable Clients
- Working with Self-Harm
